Meet Our Amazing Choir Director!!
Meet the new director of Choirs and Orchestras at Desert Vista! Joe Boatwright is a pianist, cellist, and baritone, and an Arizona native with a strong passion for ensemble music-making. Mr. Boatwright graduated from Gilbert High School after performing with the Arizona All-State Choir, All-State Orchestra, All-State Vocal Jazz, the Youth Symphony of the Southwest, and several high school theatre productions. He continued his interdisciplinary approach to music at the University of North Texas as a Choral Music Education Major, while continuing his studies on cello. He also accompanied multiple ensembles on cello and piano, as well as performing as a baritone soloist with Third Street Vocal Jazz and the UNT Baroque Orchestra and Vox Aquilae. He conducted the Up Front undergraduate conductors chorus on several occasions.
